ENOUGH Food

Transforming a zero-emission factory build from an empty shell to a secure, enterprise-grade network—designed, shipped and live in just four weeks.

Overview

Glasgow Based Biotech Food Company

Enough Food is a biotech company dedicated to providing sustainable protein solutions to meet global demand. Their flagship product, ABUNDA mycoprotein, is a fermented ingredient rich in protein and fibre, suitable for various diets. The company focuses on minimizing environmental impact while promoting a sustainable food system.

The Challenge

Enough Food needed to design and implement the full network and server infrastructure for a brand-new, state-of-the-art factory in the Netherlands—within a non-negotiable four-week window. The facility, intended to set new standards for zero-emission food production, required highly secure and robust systems to ensure flawless integration with process automation, plant control systems, and internal communication tools.

Compounding the challenge were the international logistics, compliance with local industrial standards, and the need to future-proof the design for scalability and support across international teams.

The Solution

Certum worked closely with Enough’s internal IT and automation teams to define technical requirements and ensure seamless interoperability across all production and administrative zones. A bespoke infrastructure was designed using enterprise-grade servers, managed switches, high-availability firewalls, and secure wireless access points.

Network segmentation using VLANs was introduced to isolate critical systems from general office traffic, enhancing performance and reducing cybersecurity risks. Hardware was preconfigured in the UK, shipped to the Netherlands, and installed in collaboration with local contractors under Certum’s remote supervision—keeping the project timeline intact.

The Results

Despite the ambitious timeline and logistical complexity, the infrastructure was delivered, installed, and fully operational within the four-week window. Network performance exceeded expectations, with VLAN segmentation proving critical for uptime and system integrity. The production systems now run on a secure and resilient backbone, and IT support can be managed remotely with confidence.

Enough’s team can scale the environment easily as their production grows, while maintaining the operational standards necessary for food safety and sustainability certifications. The success of the deployment has positioned the company to continue its global expansion with confidence.
